Not gone and not forgotten!

Posted by Bob on Monday 1st September 2014

Ok, so it has been about 5 and a half months since my last blog entry (or 173 days for the pedantic). There have been many changes in the Ormskirk household in the past few months, and these have meant that my ramblings have been (thankfully I'm sure to some people) scuppered. So just what has been going on to stop me posting? And more importantly (as this site is not really a personal blog of mine) what has been going on with this website? Read on, dear reader, if you dare! (or have far too much time on your hands)

Shortly after I made my last post in March, I was headhunted by a large used car buyer and trader here in the UK. I'm not naming any names, but I'm thankful they've let me continue with my little site without imposing too many restrictions. This does not effect any of the functionality or databases that we use here at We Value It. In fact, my day-to-day dealings are helping me much in coming up with ideas for the site and the technology behind it. We're not going anywhere, and we're not dumbing down! (some may say we couldn't anyway!)

Another thing that has been taking up my time is the addition of a little 'un to the house. Little Simon Ormskirk has been giving us many sleepless nights (and days) but we wouldn't change that for the world. Well, maybe a little, if we could make him a bit quieter?

But what has been going on with the site, I hear you ask. I'm sure I did? Maybe just a quiet voice at the back? Anyway, over the past few months, a total of 31 tweaks and updates have been made the the technology under the hood of our valuation system. This may not be immediately visible from the front end of the website, but the numbers are now, in my opinion, better than ever. Plus, there are still changes to be made in the future. Like I said before, we're not going anywhere!

Anyway, hope you're having a good first of the month. The new 64s are out today, and I'm shortly off to pick up our new one. Looking forward to an hour or so of uninterrupted driving before the beast is saddled with a child seat and the lingering smell of baby sick. TTFN!
